Master Project "Applied Process Mining"

This semester our research group offers the master project "Applied Process Mining".
To apply for the project please send a short motivation letter and a summary of your coding- and process mining experience to Dominik Janssen (Application deadline: 01.11.2020).

Congratulation to Prof. Dr. Andreas Oberweis
My doctoral supervisor and mentor Prof. Dr. Andreas Oberweis has been awarded Fellow of the German Informatics Society - GI Fellow 2020. Warmest congratulations on this achievement.

We have two papers accepted for publication at ICPM 2020 workshops. Congratulations to all of our co-authors.

  • D. Janssen, F. Mannhardt, A. Koschmider, S. J. van Zelst: Process Model Discovery form Sensor Event Data
  • M. Wetzel, A. Koschmider, T. Wilke: Visually Representing History Dependencies in Event Logs

Invited talks at BPM 2020 and Digitale Woche Kiel
Agnes Koschmider has been invited as speaker at the BPM 2020 panel and Digitale Woche Kiel (Tech&Taff event).

Results of the lecture evaluation SoSe 20
Here you can see the evaluation results of the lecture Advanced Process Mining.

Check out our video on Quantify Uniqueness on Published Event Logs
Interested to know how to quantify the re-identification risk of event logs for process mining? Check out our CAiSE Video here. Thanks to my co-authors for the great job.

Book on BPM & Process Mining
Soon a book on BPM & Process Mining will appear. You might already preorder the book here.

Financial support for new teaching methods
We received funding from PerLe to foster new teaching methods in our courses. Let's see how we can implement them due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Results of the lecture evaluation WS 19/20
Here you can see the evaluation results of the lectures Process Mining and Einführung in die Wirtschaftsinformatik.

Two workshop organizations
In 2020 Agnes Koschmider organizes two workshops: the workshop on Trust and Privacy in Process Analytics (TPPA) that is co-located with the Process Mining Conference 2020 and the workshop on Business Processes Meet the Internet-of-Things (BP-Meet-IoT) that is co-located with the International Conference on Business Process Management 2020.

Special Issue in Informatik Spektrum
A special issue on "Privacy in Process Analytics" has been published in the journal Informatik Spektrum. This issue sets out to discuss concerns related to privacy in process analytics over IoT-based event streams.

Paper on Privacy Preserving Process Mining online available
Our paper on privacy preserving process mining has been published in the BISE journal. This is the first paper that applies differential privacy on event logs for process mining. Many thanks to F. Mannhardt, N. Baracaldo, M. Weidlich and J. Michael.

Distinguished Talk @ IBM Research
On October 1, 2019 Agnes Koschmider gave an invited talk on Privacy Preserving Process Mining at IBM Research - Almaden (USA).

ELPaaS: Event Log Privacy as a Service
We published a tool for privacy preserving process mining and event log anonymization. You can try the tool here This is joint work with M. Bauer, S. Fahrenkrog-Petersen, H. van der Aa, F. Mannhardt and M. Weidlich.

Lecture Blockchain and Robotic Process Automation
In the winter semester, we organize a lecture series on Blockchain and Robotic Process Automation. More information here.

Interactive Catalog on BPM Patterns and Anti-Patterns Literature
Together with R. Laue, M. Fellmann, A. Schoknecht, A. Vetter we are developing a repository on BPM patterns and anti-patterns literature. More information here. We are interested to evolve the repository. If you have designed related patterns, please drop us an email. The related paper has been published in the BPM journal.

EMISA 2020
The Process Analytics Group will host the next conference of the GI Special Interest Group on Design Methods for Information System (GI-SIG-EMISA). The conference will take place at the Kiel University on May 14th and 15th 2020. More information here.

Special Issue Towards Privacy Preservation and Data Protection in Information System Design
Please consider to submit a paper to the EMISAJ special issue Towards Privacy Preservation and Data Protection in Information System Design with the deadline December 15, 2019. More information here.
